Our Materials Of Smart Food Containers
What We Use In Smart Food Containers
Smart food containers were created with longevity in mind and are made from pure food grade silicone so the QR Code will not fade, wear, or smudge. We chose silicone as it is not fragile like glass and is not prone to cracking and staining like plastic containers – plus, they are dishwasher safe to save you time (no, really! No special cleaning gadgets or detergents needed). We know how time-consuming dish cleaning can be and kept that in mind when designing the shape and materials of our containers, so all corners can be easily accessed and cleaned.
Silicone is sturdy and versatile – so Smartfreeze containers can go from the freezer, straight to the microwave or oven, and then immediately placed into the dishwasher. In fact, if you’d rather keep from dirtying dishes, you can even eat your meal straight from them (without burning yourself too!)
Is Silicone Safe For Food?
Yes, silicon is safe for food. Experts say using silicone for food is completely safe. According to Health Canada, there is no health risk use of silicone cookware. Silicone is more durable, lasts longer and is more eco-friendly than plastic because it does not break into micro-pieces like plastic when mixed with the environment. Silicone rubber never reacts with food or drink. It doesn’t even produce any harmful fumes.
